TTR Oakley Arctic Challenge 2011- Check the Course with Chas Guldemond

Every year around this time, the best Snowboarders meet in Oslo, Norway for the TTR 6Star Oakley Arctic Challenge 2011. The event which is known for a progressive and riders driven slopestyle setup, invites only riders who have shown to have what it takes to be amongst the top TTR competitors. This year, the riders list includes names such as Seppe Smits, Torstein Horgmo, Mark McMorris, Ulrik Badertscher, Jamie Anderson, Kjersti Buaas and Eric Willett. American ripper Chas Guldemond strapped a head-cam to his helmet to give us an overview of the slopestyle course and to show you what it is like throw yourself over these arctic monsters. Burton European Open 2013 – Slopestyle Wrap Up & Powder Turns

The Slopestyle competition at this years 6Star Burton European Open didn't go as planned with Men's finals and the entire Women's event having to be cancelled. Instead everyone went shredding the powder that came with the bad weather. In the end the girls got to ride some powder and split the prize money evenly. For the men, the scores of Wednesday’s Semi-Finals would be counted as the final results, leaving Torstein Horgmo to take center stage on the podium, with Mark McMorris and Sebastien Toutant taking second and third respectively. Torstein said: „Six years ago I broke my back here in Laax at the BEO, now I’m back for the first time and I won, it can’t be better! It has been an amazing week, too bad the weather didn’t allow to ride the finals today, but we all gave our best yesterday.“ These results also count towards the Overall and Slopestyle World Snowboard Tour rankings. Mark McMorris moves into the top spot of the World Snowboard Tour Slopestyle ranking with 801.62 points, pushing Roope Tonteri (FIN) into 2nd place. Sebastien Toutant moves into 8th place both Overall and in Slopestyle, and Torstein moves into 13th place in the Slopestyle rankings.

TTR Roxy Chicken Jam Wrap Up – Sladics, Buaas, Sarka, Maas

Follow the girls as the Swatch TTR World Snowboarding Tour lands in Saalbach Hinterglemm for the European 6Star Roxy Chicken Jam. With the finals going on in the background the vivacious Chanelle Sladics gives you the low down, interviewing Kjersti Buaas and current world number 1, Sarka Pancochova, as she goes. Including the finals snowboarding action and a great interview with Cheryl Maas about her ambitions for this season. A really fun edit that must be seen. "Women in Snowboarding -- A History" is the fifth video segment from a collection cut out of the 2009/2010 Swatch TTR TV Show series and is the first part of three that will focus on influential women in snowboarding and the development from the early days.To see this show in its entirety please visit http://www.ttrworldtour.com/multimedia/tv-schedule.html for television airing times in your region.The first part of the "Women in Snowboarding - A History" series delves into the complexities of being a female snowboard athlete and the development of the female side of the sport. Early pioneers such as Tara Dakides, Jenna Meyen and Stine Brun-Kjeldaas, talk about the early days of snowboarding and how women pushed their way into the spotlight and began staking their own claim. Tara, Janna and Stine witnessed how prize money at contests slowly began to turn commonplace from being virtually non-existent, and the major shift away from women wearing men's clothing with the emergence of female snowboard clothing brands. Before that, "The girls where not allowed to be seen as girls at all," says Stine.Lisa Wiik, Chanelle Sladics, Kjersti Oestgaard-Buaas and Cheryl Maas all look back on the importance of these pioneers of the sport to the current situation on the TTR Tour. Chanelle talks about how Tara, Janna and Stine all paved the way for the current generation of riders to work hard and make a career out of snowboarding, saying "We have such blessed lives, it's so cool to connect with those girls, because they are the reasons why we are getting paid and they're the ones saying: Hey we can do this too." Also sharing their views on the importance of the TTR Tour for women are Torah Bright, Silvia Mittermueller and Sarka Pancochova.
