The World Snowboard Tour uses two systems, Points Lists and Ranking Lists, in order to track the results of riders. Points Lists include rider results from all events (World Snowboard Tour events and non-Tour events), and are used to determine a rider’s eligibility to enter events and to seed riders into semi-finals at 5Star and 6Star events. Rankings Lists include rider results from World Snowboard Tour events only and rankings are determined by the average of a rider’s top 3 or 4 results depending on the discipline.
The World Snowboarding Points Lists are provided for Halfpipe, Slopestyle and Big Air for men and for Halfpipe and Slopestyle for women. A rider’s position on the World Snowboarding Points List for each discipline is determined by calculating an average of the rider´s best results over a rolling 52-week period and is updated every week on Thursday.
Each result for events on the World Snowboard Tour has a different point value based on the event Star level, The points of non-World Snowboard Tour event results are given “Star level equivalents” determined by representatives of the sport of snowboarding based on criteria like rider field and course set-up.
Averages are calculated for the points lists as specified below:
The World Snowboard Tour features separate ranking lists by discipline and gender to recognize how specialized the sport has become and how focused riders are with individual disciplines. Riders earn points toward each different ranking list based on the their final result at a competition and the star level of the competition.
