TTR General Assembly 06 Complete


Munich 15th of MarchHosted by ISPO, the TTR General Assembly ’06 at the ISPO Messe centre saw more than 80 delegates from as many countries attend an intensive four day strategic meeting marathon. Ideas, energy and progressive concepts were in no shortage as the TTR reviewed it’s performance in the 05/06 season and looked towards the 06/07 season. Review seminars examining the introduction of the TTR Ranking system, individual event performance, introduction of the TTR Womans Snowboard Tour, Star Tier and results of the TTR Bundled TV package focused on both the successes of these areas and the defined areas that needed additional attention.Following review of the 05/06 season, the GAs focus honed on the developments for the up coming 06/07 season. From closed Board meeting to open event and media sessions, all aspects of the ranking system, structural and strategic developments, Geographical tour expansion and operation were exhaustively examined. The Board reviewed the overwhelming quantity of results, feedback, discussions, ideas and conceptual models in the final Sunday closed meeting with a summary and action plan formulated for presentation and final ratification. A preview of the results promises to see significant Geographical expansion of the TTR Tour in the 06/07 season solidifying a powerful worldwide movement for freestyle snowboarding. Increased access and strategic development of the ranking and tier systems on the horizon will set the foundation to a more dynamic Tour wholly focussed on the creating a true Rookie to Pro system while fostering progression and defining a Tour Champion. Issues from all sides of snowboarding, including mens events, Star tiering, ranking system, media and TV communication, the TTR Womans World Snowboard Tour to rookie and junior development were giving equal attention over the course of the GA. The ideas that will set the parameters of the 06/07 season were delivered, discussed and communicated. With members, delegates and TTR Staff who flew in from all corners of the globe on their return journey, minutes and protocol from four days of intensive decision making from the TTR GA 06 is being fine tuned and formulated and will be available on as soon as it has been compiled. Additional protocol and definition of major developments will be updated as they have been documented and ratified on a regular basis.
