Vancouver, BC Canada, March 26th, 2008 – The Great White North is calling as riders head to Western Canada for the Swatch TTR 3-Star Quiksilver Showdown Over the City. On March 28th and 29th, 2008, Grouse Mountain will be hosting internationally recognized pro snowboarders as well as high-profile up and coming amateur riders from around the world to Vancouvers backyard playground. With 550 TTR ranking points up for grabs as well as a $20 000 cash prize purse, Vancouver is sure to witness an incredible competition. As a new event on the 3-Star level for the 07/08 season, the competition features a brand new, never-before seen custom course on Lower Peak. The new course allows greater views for media, and spectators, but will also challenge and stoke the competitors. The Slopestyle set up will consist of one jump with multiple takeoffs leading into a jib setup with multiple jibs and combos. The backdrop of the new course affords panoramic views spanning Mt. Baker, across the citys landscape and onward to the Vancouver gulf islands. Big names ready to destroy Grouse Mountain include local rider Chris Dufficy (CAN), Canadian powerhouse Dave Fortin (CAN), TTR World No. 54 Dustin Craven (CAN) who placed 10th at the 6-Star Oakley Arctic Challenge and TTR World No. 47 Jacob Koia from New Zealand. Also set to compete is 13-year old Sebastien Toutant (CAN) who placed 9th in the Slopestyle at the 6-Star Burton European Open, and current TTR World No. 21 Charles Reid from Canada who recently stood third on the Slopestyle podium at the 6-Star Burton US Open.
