Livigno reports the first great confirmations for the Burn River Jump, the snowboard contest now at its fourth edition to be held in Livigno from the 24th to the 26th of February, organized by Burton Snowboards in collaboration with Mottolino, APT Livigno and Skipassion Livigno. The Burn River Jump is the only Swatch TTR World Snowboard Tour event in Europe ranked with 5 Stars on the prestigious world tour for both competitions planned. And this year it is expected more than ever to be a unique and fresh event in terms of both format and show. Directly from Vermont, the home land of Burton Snowboards, Jack Mitrani will reach Livigno, ready to win a slice of the $50,000 USD prize purse. Born in 1988, he is known on the international scene for his strength and versatility in both slopestyle and halfpipe disciplines, ranking fifth at the past season 5Star Nissan X-Trail Asian Open in Japan and eighth at the last edition of the Burton New Zealand Open Snowboarding Championships. Competing for victory at the Burn River Jump and for a part of the great prize purse is also the Norwegian Mikkel Bang, a real jibbing expert, who is motivated and charged up after having finished second in slopestyle last January at the 6Star Burton European Open in Laax .The curtains draw on February the 24th 2010 at Swatch Mottolino Snowpark with the BRUX-Slopestyle Contest in one of Europe’s most beautiful snowparks, which runs on an area of over 120 thousand square meters. This is the first event scheduled and foresses about one hundred athletes participating. Two hits will lead qualified riders to the finals on 25th of February, where the winners of the BRUX-Slopestyle Contest will be elected. The second format is seen as the highlight of the three days in Livigno. The Burn River Jump will take place on February the 26th with the grand final starting at sunset for an incredible night show. The first 8 athletes from the qualifier will access the second format where they will compete against invited riders and wild cards. This time the competition will not be held the Swatch Mottolino Snowpark but the centre of Livigno: the jump over the Spoel river. This year the second part of the Burn River Jump will be even more peculiar and unconventional thanks to the new contest structures that were proposed by the expert team of DOORS Snowpark Structures. These new structures will make the event even more freestyle, more and more jibbing oriented – for the fun for both the participants and the public. In addition to the river jump, riders will have the opportunity to try out a pole jam, wall ride, kicker, rail and Burn structures specifically designed for the occasion. this asks for imagination and versatility from everyone. For those who wish to challenge the big names of the international scene during the snowboard slopestyle contest scheduled on the 24th and the 25th of February, registrations are open online at www.riverjump.it, under Rider Registration until February the 19th 2010.
