Third Annual Quiksilver Showdown Over The City To Feature Top TTR Talent


The third annual Quiksilver Showdown Over the City is gearing up for a weekend packed with action at Grouse Mountain in Vancouver, Canada on the 25th to the 27th March 2011. The Showdown Over the City has grown to be one of Canada’s premiere slopestyle competitions with huge kickers, fresh rail setups and some legit snowboarding. This year’s rider list is chock full of talent with Eric Willett (USA), Mark McMorris (CAN), Matts Kulisek (CAN) and Zach Stone (CAN) all planning to attend. These riders and many others will be battling it out for a slice of the $20,000 USD prize purse and a maximum of 500 Swatch TTR World Ranking points.Massive Jumps Await Riders at Grouse MountainThe riding will start on Friday, March 25th with a qualifying round where the top 10 will move on to semi-finals. Semi-finals will kick off in the morning on Saturday, March 26th where the top 10 will move onto the finals round in the afternoon. The course setup is shaping up to be fun and challenging with an option of two rails to start things off, followed by two more rail features, which will lead into a 60-foot kicker and ends with a massive 70-foot kicker. Top-Notch Talent Ready to Throwdown at the ShowdownAmerican, Eric Willett, who is currently in World No. 8, took the slopestyle scene by storm this year and will be lighting it up on this slopestyle course along with another slopestyle master and current World No. 4, Mark McMorris, from Canada. Matts Kulisek just won the 4Star RIDE Shakedown last weekend in Washington, USA and will be at the Quiksilver Showdown Over the City looking to repeat his victory here in Canada.
