The TTR World Snowboard Tour Dropping Into Its 10Th Anniversary Season!

The TTR World Tour is proud to kick off our 10th year of operation with the 2011/2012 season which is now officially underway. There is a ton of action lined up for this season including an all-new ranking system, the inaugural 6Star World Snowboarding Championships set to take place in Oslo, Norway and all the other elite events the TTR World Tour has become known for over the past ten years. The biggest news for the 2011/12 season is the totally revamped TTR World Tour ranking system. Since snowboarding is becoming an increasingly specialized sport, the TTR decided to establish a new ranking system using modified criteria. Beginning with the upcoming season, The TTR World Tour Rankings will be split into four different categories: In addition to the TTR Overall World Tour Ranking (male/female) there will be individual tour ranking lists for Halfpipe (m/f), Slopestyle (m/f) and Big Air (male only). Thus, TTR World Tour Champion titles will be awarded in these four categories at the end of the season. The new ranking categories will also be integral in how riders qualify for the World Snowboarding Championships taking place in February 2012 in Oslo, Norway and will be used to determine eligibility to start at all major TTR events. The first 5Star Big Air event, the Billabong Ante Up, is already in the bag and the results have officially launched the TTR Big Air Tour ranking list and the TTR Overall Tour ranking list for the men. The Burton New Zealand Open is right around the corner, which will be the first event where men and women can register results that will count towards the TTR Halfpipe Tour Ranking and the TTR Slopestyle Tour Ranking lists.
