Magnitogorsk, Russia – February 4th, 2008: As riders tear it up in Switzerland, slay rails in the United States, and launch off old ski jumps in France, the Metallurg-Magnitogorsk Resort in Russia will be hosting the Swatch TTR THREE(3)STAR BGV Fest from February 8th to 10th 2008. Now in its seventh year the BGV Fest will feature the best riding in Russia alongside high-energy live music, a 20 000 Euro prize purse, and 550 TTR Ranking points going to the winner. Over the years, the BGV Fest has increased in popularity, attracting over 10 000 spectators to a Slopestyle competition where many local and European riders battle it out in the only TTR event in Russia. The course consists of a massive kicker that drives riders into a collection of jibs, rails, and small features, allowing competitors to get creative with their riding. The competition will narrow down from a 70-rider qualification round to just 16 riders in the semi-finals. A best of three run format will determine the 8 man finals and the ultimate champion. On top of a high-end international snowboard competition, the BGV Fest will also feature live DJs, spectator competitions, ritual bonfires and a smashing BGV after-party.
