Under sunny skies the male riders tackled the 140m long 6Star Burton European Open Superpipe in Laax, Switzerland. Today saw the qualifying rounds and the semi finals preparing for the finals on Saturday. Finland’s Ilkka-Eemeli Laari made his way through the qualifying runs and emerged as the front runner of the semi finals, launching huge airs and a technical varied run consisting of a Backside 540 mute, Frontside 1260 Tailgrab, Method Air, Frontside 1080 Double Cork and topping it off with a Haakon Flip. In second place was veteran snowboarder Markus Keller, who pleased his home crowds and got huge cheers. Only a week before he took second place at the 6Star O’Neill Evolution halpipe in Davos.
