Only a week after the confirmation of the Irish-American rock band Dropkick Murphys, the world snowboarding championship brings more music to your ears as a new announcement of the “deathpunk” band, Turbonegro are opening. For those who don’t know this legendary band, they played at the official kick-off party of the world championships in New York in November, which was a huge success. The only difference this time is they have a new singer, British vocalist Tony Sylvester. They are a Norwegian punk rock band that reformed late in 2002 which were well known from 1989 to 1998. Their style combines glam rock, punk rock and hard rock into a style the band describe as “deathpunk”. So the die hard Turbonegro fans can look forward to another killer opening by the band at the world championships in Oslo Saturday 11th February 2012. “It was a privilege to host the legendary Turbonegro concert at Santos Party House in New York. But one Turbonegro party is not enough. We are going to export Santos Party House to Oslo during the championships days, and I’m extremely excited that Turbonegro is opening our week filled with high class entertainment and sports,” says Andrew W.K., the party ambassador of the snowboarding championships.
