Davos, Switzerland, is set and ready to host the ONeill Evolutiondirectly after the New Year as it throws the Tour into top gear from January 2nd to 7th 2008 with the third SIX(6)STAR competition on the Swatch TTR World Snowboard Tour. Two Swatch TTR results, $100,000 USD prize purseand a Live Webcast puts the Tour on overdrive straight off the start of the New Year.With two times 1000 Swatch TTR ranking points up for grabs in the Halfpipe and Quarterpipe formats, plus a $100,000 USD prize purse, the ONeill Evolution will definitely have a significant bearing on the Swatch TTR World Snowboard Tour Championship Title and $250,000USD end of season prize purse. Top riders have confirmed their place for the ONeill Evolution, including pro shredders such as current TTR World No. 5, Chas Guldemond(USA), World No. 8 Andy Finch(USA), defending 07 Quarterpipe Champion, Nicolas Mueller(SUI), 06/07 World No. 2, Antti Autti(FIN), 05/06 TTR Tour Champion, Mathieu Crepel(FRA) and 05/06 World No.2 Risto Mattila(FIN). On the comeback trail after and early season shoulder injury, 07 O’Neill Evolution Halfpipe champion, Antti Autti (FIN), is to set unleash a riding storm as he opens his 07/08 Tour Title aspirations. Having already missed two crucial encounters at the first SIX(6) STAR events, the Nokia Air&Style Munich 07 and Nissan X-Trail Jam in December, Antti is fired up to assert his dominance and defend his Halfpipe Title in Davos. Chas Guldemond(USA), who currently sits at TTR World No.5, is certain to move past Kevin Pearce(USA) into TTR World No.2 just behind current Tour leader, Torstein Horgmo (NOR), with a podium at the ONeill Evolution Halfpipe contest. With the Quarterpipe results up for grabs the following day, failing injury, Chas looks set to steal the Tour lead from team-mate, Horgmo, by the end of the weekend. Not to be discounted is two times Champion in Davos, transition master Andy Finch(USA), fresh off his 2nd in the Quarterpipe section of the Nissan X-Trail Jam who is set to invade the Swatch TTR Top 5. Old rivals, 05/06 TTR Tour Champion, Mathieu Crepel(FRA) fresh off his 3rd overall and 05/06 TTR World No. 2, Risto Mattila(FIN), 2nd overall result and Big Air win at the Nissan X-Trail Jam, will be battling for the highest spot, posting their 3rd results respectively of the season and set to move into Swatch TTR Top 10.With a world class Superpipe and Quarterpipe results available, alongside mind blowing snow conditions so far this season, the Swatch TTR World Snowboard Tour launches into 2008 with the explosive ONeill Evolution.
