This Friday, Andorras premiere snowboard event, the 4Star Grandvalira Total Fight presented by Burton and Coca Cola, will kick off a weekend of slopestyle action. The Total Fight is now in its 7th year and has developed a good reputation for its solid setup, excellent riding and relaxed atmosphere. The total prize purse is set at $25,000 USD and the riders will be able to gather a maximum of 500 Swatch TTR World Ranking points. Qualifications will run on Friday, the 25th of March and Saturday, March 26th will see an exciting knock-out format final.Total Fight Prepares for a Tight Knock Out BattleThe burly park setup at the El Tarter terrain park is set for action with several custom-shaped shaped jumps for the riders including the events trademark gap jump, as well as, new obstacles like the table-top/spine combo giving riders multiple options in one feature. The two-run open qualification day will narrow the rider field to 32 that will move on to Saturdays semi-finals. The field will be cut again to the top 16 riders who will advance to the head-to-head knock-out finals. To wrap up the competition, the super-finals will feature four riders who will have three runs to show their best in order to land a spot on the podium. Can Ville Uotila Take the Total Fight Title for the Fourth Time? Finnish rider, Ville Uotila, has been dominating this event for the last three years and is back to defend his title. If Ville does well here at the Total Fight, he could improve his TTR World No. 77 ranking place. He will have to fight it out with his fellow countrymen, Janne Lipsanen (FIN), who is sitting in World No. 43 and Nuutti NiemelE, who is only a few spots behind in World No 46. They have both been climbing the TTR ranks steadily, and are eager to grab a first 4Star title. Also planning to attend are some top Spanish riders like Dani Sastre and Miguel Moreno, as well as, Argentinians Matias Radaelli and Facundo Vial and Austrian Mathias Weisenbacher. What Else is Going On on the TTR TourThe Pyrennees mountain range is up for a treat this weekend with the Grandvalira Total Fight ahead. This week, women on the Swatch TTR World Tour will have an opportunity to collect three 4Star results at the Battery Catfight, an all-girl event taking place in Levi, Finland from March 24th to the 27th, 2011. In Vancouver, Canada the 4Star Quiksilver Showdown Over the City will also be running over the next weekend at Grouse Mountain.
