A new event on the Swatch TTR World Tour, the 4Star Stimorol ENGADINSNOW, is getting ready to kick off next week in St. Moritz, Switzerland and will feature slopestyle competitions for both male and female riders. Although this is the first year on the TTR Tour, the Engadinsnow event has been running for nine years and is a well-respected competition in the Swiss snowboard scene. For the first time at this event, riders will have the opportunity to collect valuable TTR ranking points and go after a piece of the healthy prize purse worth $20,000 USD. Over 60 Riders lining up to ride at the 4Star slopestyle competitionThe 800-meter-long slopestyle course features a selection of rails and boxes, as well as, four perfectly shaped kickers. The men will take to the course first on Tuesday, February 1st for qualifiers where only 30-riders will move on to the finals on Wednesday, February 2nd. The womens competition will run both qualifiers and finals on Wednesday. On the mens side, some solid European riders are heading out for the competition including young Finnish rider, Roope Tonteri, who just came off a big slopestyle win at the 6Star Burton European Open. Roope is currently sitting in TTR World No. 9 and will have to battle it out with veteran competitor, Chris KrEll (AUT), and Swiss wonder kid, 16-year old Jan Scherrer, who recently took his first 6Star podium at the ONeill Evolution halfpipe. On the womens side, Swiss rider Elena KEnz will be heading to the event to try to improve on her spot in the TTR Top 50 after taking 11th place in the 6Star ONeill Evolution and 3rd at the 3Star Rip Curl Sista Sessions.
