Boost Mobile Announce A World-Class Field For The Boost Mobile Sno Sho Presented By Samsung.


Lifestyle telecommunications company Boost Mobile is proud to announce the list of the worlds best pro snowboarders who will be making their way to Perisher Blues front valley for the fourth-annual Boost Mobile Sno Sho presented by Samsung.The exclusive invitational event, running from August 29-30 and boasting $30,000 in prize money, offers a world-class field of 22 invited snowboarders a chance to compete in the premier event on the Australasian snowboard calendar. Perisher Blue, the epicentre of Australias best freestyle snowboarding, will provide the ideal facility as snowboarders from throughout Australia test their skills against some of the worlds best riders.But unlike previous years, the Boost Mobile Sno Sho is now an official 3Star rated event and counts towards the Swatch TTR World Snowboard Tour rankings for all riders that qualify for the main final.The events will feature some of Australias best snowboarders including Boost Mobile team riders Mitch Allen (Berrara, NSW), Max Cookes (Toorak, VIC) and Jye Kearney (Jindabyne, NSW). Several of the worlds best international snowboarders are set to make an appearance this year also, including Mikkel Bang (Norway), Marko Grilc (Slovenia) and Keegan Valaika (USA), who will travel to the Snowy Mountains to compete and will no doubt raise the bar for Australian snowboarding. Im really looking forward to it.” The first day of competition will be the Wildcard event on Friday 29, August which will see crowds of eager snowboarders battle it out for one of two Wildcard positions.The days events feature the Worlds Longest Rail Slide and a 45-minute Jam Session, which will include both the Big Air course and the Longest Rail. The Judging for the Rail Jam and Big Air is based on the Internationals Judges Commission – OI (Overall Impression) standard which allows riders to push their limits without having to worry about specific tricks.The top two snowboarders at the end of the Jam Session will receive wildcard entries into Saturdays main event against the worlds best and a chance to win up to $30,000 in cash and prizes. This event is open to the public and free to enter at .The action continues on Saturday 30th, August where the 2 wildcards and 22 national and international Pros go head to head. Kicking off with the ‘Longest Rail Slide the rider with the longest successful slide will win $5,000 prize money and the ‘King of the Rail” crown. Following on will be the ‘Sno Sho Jam Session. This is a free-for-all format with each rider trying to land the most technical tricks whilst trying to impress the judges. The top two scores from each rider at the end of the Jam Session are combined and the top six riders progress through to compete in the Boost Mobile Sho Sho Final. The winner with the most points in the ‘Sno Sho Jam Session wins $5,000 prize money for their trouble.Saturday night will see The Boost Mobile ‘Sno Sho Final held under lights on Perisher Blues front valley. The final consists of a unique game show style format with riders having to perform tricks randomly selected from a spinning game show wheel. The wheel is spun for each round and each rider must attempt to complete the set trick. If they are successful they receive a ‘thumbs up from the judges, with each ‘thumbs up the rider is awarded a letter. The first rider to complete 5 tricks and spell the word B-O-O-S-T wins the Boost Mobile ‘Sno Sho and the $15,000 winner-takes-all cash.
