Billabong Flaunt It Big White, British Columbia

Billabong Flaunt It, presented by Sony Ericsson arrived at Big White, BC for the third stop of the tour on Saturday, February 18th.  The long awaited snow finally hit Thursday night and did not let up all weekend, making for some great powder turns but unfavorable contest conditions.  While most riders were roaming the mountain getting lost in the fog, 18 competitors gave up apowder day and made their way out to flaunt their skills.

The Rail Jam was held in the morning in hopes that the fog would roll out in the afternoon in time for the Slopestyle.  Unfortunately the weather did not cooperate and as a result a second rail jam was held in the afternoon.  The afternoon Rail Jam consisted of a log bonk, up-flat-down rail, a picnic table and a quarter pipe.  The setup allowed the girls to get creative and was judged on overall impression.  Defending champion Stephanie Haines made her mark on the judges and won both Rail Jams and the Dakine Best Trick, taking home a total of $1050 dollars, tons of prizing and secured herself a trip to the finals at Sierra-At-Tahoe for a second time.
Alaura Ewen and Zuzy Rocka stood out among the riders and each podiumed twice in both morning and afternoon Rail Jams.  Another outstanding rider, 13-year-old Kira Lengkeek rocked solid handplants on the quarterpipe and took home the NixonStyle Award as well as 5th place in the afternoon Rail Jam.
