Uttendorf, Austria – April 11th 2008: The Swatch TTR 3-Star Chill and Destroy took place on April 5th, 2008 with snowboarders ripping underneath sunny blue skies and competing for 550 TTR Points and a $10 000 USD prize purse. Young German rider Florian Handschuh, who now sits just inside the TTR Top 100, won the mens snowboard category and $2500 USD as now TTR No. 54 Steffi Hamann (GER) took the womens title and $1000 USD. Thanks to a huge dump of snow over the previous few weeks, park shaper Herbert Stadler was able to construct a sick and fun-to-ride set up including a massive collection of boxes and rails amidst a sweet line of four 10 to 18 m kickers.German female rider and first place finisher Steffi Hamann simply owned the Slopestyle course with a sick Straight Air Nosegrab off the Big Bertha kicker, a BS Noseslide to Fakie on the kinked box, a 50/50 on the rainbow and a Rock-to-fakie on the wallride. Nadine Unger (GER) placed second amongst the women with some sick Boardslide combos followed by Martina ZEllner from Germany in third.The men however didnt hold anything back. 3-Star Chill and Destroy Title winner and German Slopestyle Champion Florian Handschuh destroyed the rails and kickers. His monstrous inverted 5 set the tone of his run that also included a 180-on to 50-50 to BS Boardslide on the kinked box, a 50-50 to 180-off on the rainbow and BS 270-on to 270-off on the post box. Benno Postert (GER) took second with a sick Cab 7 as Benny Deeg (GER) rounded out the mens top 3.
